Work Content
The Institute of Molecular Biology (IMB) at Academia Sinica invites applications for one tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Research Fellow level. We seek an outstanding scientist who will establish an innovative and independent research program addressing fundamental questions in contemporary biology. IMB offers a collaborative and intellectually stimulating research environment. Research at the Institute spans molecular, cellular, structural, developmental, computational, and systems biology. We welcome applicants whose work complements or expands our existing strengths and introduces new scientific perspectives, technologies, or interdisciplinary directions.
IMB is committed to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion in STEM. We particularly encourage applications from individuals who have been underrepresented in science, including women, indigenous scholars, and researchers with disabilities. We strongly value candidates who will contribute to an inclusive, respectful, and supportive research and mentoring environment. -
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have appropriate postdoctoral or comparable research experience. Candidates will be evaluated based on the originality, rigor, and potential impact of their research; their ability to establish an independent program; and their commitment to mentorship and collegiality. The successful candidate will receive a competitive multi-year start-up package, followed by long-term intramural funding. IMB provides state-of-the-art core facilities in imaging, genomics, RNA interference, electrophysiology, flow cytometry, biophysics, bioinformatics, transgenic technologies, and animal research. Currently, IMB is affiliated with several Ph.D. programs, including international programs that recruit students worldwide. English is the primary language used for seminars, lectures, and scientific communication, and proficiency in Chinese is not a prerequisite for application.
