1. Execute the Academia Sinica project “Evolution and Biogeography of Scleractinian Corals and Coral Reefs in East Asia : The Pivotal Role of Taiwan”.
2. Lead research in coral community ecology and eDNA applications with emphasis on Acropora diversity within coral reef ecosystems.
3. Participate in international collaborations on the evolution and biogeography of East Asian coral reefs, highlighting Taiwan’s role in the region.
4. Apply community ecology and eDNA approaches to investigate Acropora diversity patterns and underlying ecological and historical processes.
5. Conduct coral reef community surveys and sampling in Taiwan and Japan.
6. Perform coral eDNA workflows and conduct coral assemblage, image, and statistical analyses.
7. Prepare project progress, midterm, and final reports. The position requires frequent regional travel for fieldwork and collaborative meetings.

Currently, we are conducting an NSTC-funded project on marine algae, population variation, and warming. This position is open until filled.
