Since 1998, Academia Sinica’s annual “Open House” event has become highly anticipated for science enthusiasts and an important opportunity for the public to learn about its research achievements.
The “Open House” event is held in October and features hundreds of activities, such as science lectures, laboratory tours, poster exhibitions, interactive experiences, arts and crafts, and family games, catering to a wide variety of visitors.
Starting in 2023, there will be interactive activities categorized by age groups, allowing children to experience the joy of science through games. Detailed information about the activities will be announced on Academia Sinica’s website.

Knowledge Feast: Popular Science Lectures in Honor of Late Presidents
Since 2004, Academia Sinica has regularly held the “Knowledge Feast Popular Science Lectures” and “Popular Science Lectures in Honor of Late Presidents” events. In 2019, both were integrated into the “Knowledge Feast: Popular Science Lectures in Honor of Late Presidents,” featuring academicians and distinguished researchers who share their research in mathematics and physical sciences, life sciences, and humanities and social sciences. Due to the accessible topics and engaging content, each lecture attracts hundreds of students and community members.

Academia Sinica Popular Science Lectures
Known as the “Academia Sinica Popular Science Lectures,” Academia Sinica has been holding science lectures in various cities in Taiwan since 2018 to share its research achievements in the basic sciences with the wider public.
Researchers from Academia Sinica are invited to talk about their research and engage with the public. So far, we have visited Tainan, Hualien, Taichung, Pingtung, Changhua, Chiayi, Taitung, Yilan, Kinmen, Taoyuan and Penghu.

Academia Sinica 90th Anniversary
In 2018, Academia Sinica celebrated its 90th anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, a Scientific Leaders' Forum was held in November 2018, where 21 representatives from science institutes from 14 countries attended. During the forum, experiences and ideas were shared on topics such as the organization, the mission and challenges, and the future prospects of the science institutes.
