Work Content
Research Associate Positions at IMB, Academia Sinica (Starting October 2025)
My lab at the Institute of Molecular Biology (IMB), Academia Sinica, focuses on the rapid evolution of essential genes and chromosome structures. We are particularly interested in the paradox of how genes and chromosomal features critical for survival and reproduction, typically expected to be evolutionarily conserved, can instead evolve rapidly under strong positive selection. To investigate this, we integrate genetics, genomics, and cytology to uncover the causes and consequences of this phenomenon.
We are seeking 1–2 highly motivated B.S. or M.S.-level research associates to join the lab and contribute to new and ongoing projects. Successful candidates will have opportunities to co-author publications and are encouraged to lead independent research projects. Based on performance, there will be opportunities to attend international conferences and visit collaborating labs in the U.S. or Canada. I am committed to supporting career development and mentorship for all team members.
Responsibilities:
•Perform basic molecular biology experiments:
oPCR, molecular cloning, DNA and RNA extraction, sequencing
•Assist with lab management:
