2024 NSTC Outstanding Research Award Awardees from Academia Sinica
We are currently accepting applications for the 2026 Academia Sinica Career Development Award, Investigator Project Grant, Thematic Research Program, and Grand Challenge Program. Now accepting recommended applications from local universities for the 2026 Academia Sinica Scholar Award
Dr Kuan-Jen Chen’s work, entitled “Imperium in Imperio: G.I. Joe’s Jurisdiction in Early Cold War Taiwan,” has been awarded first prize in the Cold War Essay Contest, sponsored by the John A. Adams ’71 Center for Military History & Strategic Analysis at the Virginia Military Institute. The prize was announced in December 2024.
Dr. Benny K.K. Chan, Distinguished Research Fellow and Director of the Biodiversity Research Center, received the Mario Markus Prize for his studies on the remarkable mobility of "immotile" turtle barnacles.
