A total of 12 applications were submitted for the 2026 Sustainability Science Research Program: 3 on “Energy Technologies and Innovative Carbon Reduction Strategies in a Warming World;” 1 on “Health Risk Assessment and Adaptation Strategies Under Environmental Change;” 3 on “Sustainable Agriculture and Conservation Under Environmental and Ecosystem Changes;” 4 on “Sustainable Socioeconomic Governance and Transition Studies;” and 1 on “International Cooperative Joint Office Top-down Project.” Of these, 10 were selected for funding, including 1 on “International Cooperative Joint Office Top-down Project.” Of these, 10 were selected for funding, including 3 on “Energy Technologies and Innovative Carbon Reduction Strategies in a Warming World” (including 1 approved for one year), 3 on “Sustainable Agriculture and Conservation Under Environmental and Ecosystem Changes,” 3 on “Sustainable Socioeconomic Governance and Transition Studies,” and 1 on “International Cooperative Joint Office Top-down Project.” Please refer to the following list for detailed information.
