Lecture Synopsis: In recent years there has been a revolution in the pharmaceutical industry, with increasing use of biological agents rather than chemicals as therapeutic agents. In particular, antibodies have become blockbuster drugs for treatment of cancer and immune disorders. Sir Gregory Winter’s talk will trace the development of antibodies as a therapeutic class and highlight the potential for further developments within the antibody space.
