Abstract:
Increasingly it is a common practice for a researcher team to prepare a data management plan (DMP) at the same time when submitting their research project proposal. In addition, when a research paper is published, it is often required that the datasets accompanying the paper are deposited at an accessible research data repository. This introductory course will cover the trends in research data repositories, data management plans, as well as practical skills in using the depositar (https://data.depositar.io) for research data sharing, publishing, and preservation. The depositar is a research data repository developed and supported by the Institute of Information Science and the Research Center for Information Technology Innovation at Academia Sinica. We will also discuss the relation between research data repository and research data management. More information about these topics can be found at the “the basics of research data management” dataset (https://data.depositar.io/organization/rdm-basics) and at the Research Data Management Hub (https://rdm.depositar.io).
