New Fellow Introduction: Dr. Hsin-Hsin Pan, Associate Research Fellow of the Institute of Sociology

Dr. Hsin-Hsin Pan received her Ph.D. in Political Science from Michigan State University, U.S.A. Her research interests include Political Sociology, War Psychology, Survey Experimental Methods for Sensitive Questions, Social Foundation for Political Transformation in Contemporary China.

Dr. Pan joined the Institute of Sociology, Academia Sinica, as an Associate Research Fellow in February 2026. Her research employs survey experiments and causal inference methods to address social desirability bias and endogeneity challenges in causal inference in conventional direct-questioning surveys. Through these methodological approaches, she seeks to elicit more truth from sensitive survey questions and verify the causal inferences in social sciences research.

Her current research focuses on geopolitics and security issues in Taiwan, China, and the broader East Asian region.
