- Objectives
One of Academia Sinica's missions is the recruitment of promising and talented young researchers who have achieved scholarly distinction to join the Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP). The Rising Star Fellowship program, and the regulations below, have been established to promote this end. - Awardee Eligibility
This annual fellowship will only be awarded to outstanding first year TIGP program students. - Fellowship Amount
Awardees will receive NT$ 6,000 per month for their first three years at the TIGP. However, awardees who fail to pass an annual academic performance evaluation will be disqualified and their funding suspended.
Awardees of the Research Performance Fellowship and Presidential Fellowship are ineligible to receive the Rising Star Fellowship concurrently. - Application Procedure
Each TIGP program should submit its list of recommended awardees to the TIGP Office for review by the end of March. A letter of recommendation from each program's coordinator is required. The list of awardee recommendations cannot be changed after selections have been approved. - Ethical Conduct
Should an awardee be involved in a violation of academic ethics, his or her case will be processed according to the “Code of Ethics for Academia Sinica Research Fellows and Research Specialists.”
