- The Dr. Wang Shih-Chieh Memorial Chair Professorship Review Committee (the Committee) has been established by Academia Sinica (AS) to manage funding for the Dr. Wang Shih-Chieh Memorial Chair Professorship donated by the China Foundation for the Promotion of Education and Culture, as well as to promote academic activities in the social sciences.
- The Committee is responsible for evaluating the use of Dr. Wang Shih-Chieh Memorial Chair Professorship funding and for selecting awardees.
- The Committee consists of seven to nine members. One of the Academia Sinica Vice Presidents, appointed by the President of Academia Sinica, serves as an ex-officio committee member and convener, and the Executive Secretary (or a Deputy Executive Secretary) of the Central Academic Advisory Committee serves as an ex-officio committee member. Candidates for the remaining committee positions will be recommended by AS institutes and research centers in the humanities and social sciences, and their appointments submitted by the convener for approval by the President.
- Committee members serve two-year terms, which can be renewed. A new convener and/or ex-officio committee members should be appointed if their positions at AS have changed. If committee members leave their positions before their term ends, successors to their positions will serve until the end of the same term.
- Committee meetings are not convened regularly but by need. During Committee meetings, the convener serves as chairperson; if the convener is unable to attend, committee members may choose another chairperson. Relevant units or individuals may be invited to attend as non-voting delegates.
