Dr. Kuan-Jen Lu obtained her Ph.D in Plant Biochemistry from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich) and her postdoctoral training, focusing on how plants regulate starch formation. She later joined the Institute of Biological Chemistry, Academia Sinica, where she shifted her research to designing efficient carbon fixation mechanisms using synthetic biology, aimed at increasing carbon capture and storage in cyanobacteria or plants for enhancing photoproduction.
In September 2024, Dr. Lu joined the Agriculture Biotechnology Center, Academia Sinica, as an assistant research fellow in the southern campus. There, she will continue to study and redesign carbon fixation to provide solutions for carbon balance.
