This book explores the dynamics of governance between Indigenous Peoples and the state from the perspectives of Comparative Austronesian Studies. Drawing upon the ethnographic examples from Taiwan, Southeast Asia, and Oceania, the authors examine how various actors imagine and form new connections with the state. By engaging with emerging concepts such as traditional territories, cultural heritage, traditional intellectual property rights, and ethnic enterprises, the assemblage of actors, knowledge, and rights unveils new ‘worlding’ and its multiplicity
