【Abstract】
In this talk I will describe the first ab-initio calculation of the nuclear-structure-dependent radiative correction delta_{NS} to superallowed nuclear beta transition rates, which paves the way for a precise determination of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix element V_{ud} that serves as a powerful weapon to test the Standard Model (SM) at low energies. I will demonstrate how a proper combination of nuclear many-body calculations and knowledge of hadron structures at high energy results in a first-principles determination of delta_{NS} with a rigorously quantifiable theoretical uncertainty.
