• These Guidelines have been established by Academia Sinica in order to meet the needs of academic development and to regulate the part-time teaching in schools of Academia Sinica research staff and research specialists.
• The part-time teaching of Academia Sinica research staff and research specialists shall not influence their duties and responsibilities in Academia Sinica; the hours of part-time teaching (including the hours of joint appointment part-time teaching) should not exceed a total of 4 hours each week within office hours.
• The research institute, preparatory office or research center of Academia Sinica must compile the part-time teaching hours of the research staff and research specialists offered in schools. The part-time teaching hours and the course timetables shall be approved by the director of the research institute, preparatory office or research center and reported to Academia Sinica for reference.
• When the part-time teaching is approved and reported as said in Article 2, the staff who has part-time teaching shall use the approval document as a leave sheet, and the research institute, preparatory office or research center shall register the absence as leave for statutory reasons.
• These Guidelines and the amendments thereof have been passed by the Council of Academia Sinica and approved and promulgated by the President of Academia Sinica.

Note: The Chinese text of these Guidelines shall be deemed the original. In the event of any dispute or misunderstanding as to the interpretation of the language or terms of these Guidelines, the Chinese language version shall control.
