    3. Work Content

      The Center for Survey Research, Research Center for Humanities and Social Sciences (RCHSS) in Academia Sinica, Taiwan is looking for motivated candidates specializing in survey and quantitative methodologies, computational social science, or data science to join the Center. We are an interdisciplinary team of social scientists and data science researchers with the goal of integrating different research methods to advance understanding of human behaviors and social issues. We invite applications from outstanding candidates for the tenure-track position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Research Fellow level (equivalent to Assistant, Associate, or Full Professors, respectively, at university).

    4. Qualifications

      Interested candidates should possess a doctoral degree from an academic institution accredited by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan or foreign equivalent, or be able to receive a doctoral degree by March 31, 2026. Please refer to Article 7, Article 8 or Article 9 of the Organization Regulations of the Research Institutes of Academia Sinica (https://www.sinica.edu.tw/en/cp/420) for the qualifications for Full, Associate and Assistant Research fellows.

      Candidates with the ability to integrate survey and other cutting-edge methods in social science as well as a strong record of research accomplishments will receive priority consideration. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the development of humanities and social science theory and methodology and participate in interdisciplinary research in line with the medium- and long-term development of the RCHSS. Proficiency in Chinese language is not a prerequisite for application.

      Applicants for the position at the assistant research fellow level are required to submit the following documents in electric format:
      1.a curriculum vitae
      2.a list of publications
      3.a photocopy of the doctoral degree certificate or certification for completion of course work and successful defense of dissertation. For applicants who have not yet passed the oral examination, proof of completion of coursework requirements and a letter certifying the date of oral examination are required.
      4.transcripts from graduate schools
      5.the doctoral dissertation (or draft) and representative publications (in PDF format) after Jan. 1, 2020 (If the representative publication is the result of a collaborative research effort, please describe the applicant’s contributions in theory and method.)
      6.statement of research accomplishments and future research plans (within three pages)
      7.three letters of recommendation to be sent directly by email to Dr. Ming-Chang Tsai (Executive Director, Center for Survey Research) c/o Ms. Wen-Hsin Wang

      Applicants for positions at the level of associate research fellow or above are required to submit the following documents in electric format:
      1.a curriculum vitae
      2.a list of publications
      3.a photocopy of the doctoral degree certificate
      4.proof of appointments in Taiwanese or international academic institutes
      5.the doctoral dissertation and representative publications (in PDF format) after Jan. 1, 2020 (If the representative publication is the result of a collaborative research effort, please describe the applicant’s contributions in theory and method.)
      6.statement of research accomplishments and future research plan (within three pages)
