摘要：

This talk explores how digital technologies shape aging, care, and family life through the everyday experiences of older adults in China. I suggest that such technologies mediate not only communication but also dignity, dependence, and moral economies of care. While digital tools promise convenience, they also generate new anxieties and moral tensions, blurring boundaries between intimacy and surveillance. By attending to seemingly ordinary moments, I show how eldercare in a digital age is not simply about efficiency or innovation, but about navigating fragile arrangements of kinship, labor, and technology that sustain relationships both across generations and within broader social worlds. The digital infrastructures that now undergird daily life in China—and elsewhere—are deeply entangled with emotional life, cultural values, and moral expectations.
