The use of nitrogen fertilizers was a key factor in the success of the Green Revolution; however it also led to significant environmental issues. Nitrate is the primary nitrogen source for plants, and our research focuses on understanding nitrate transport and signaling. Several major breakthroughs have been documented in plant physiology textbooks, and we are working to apply these foundational research findings to promote sustainable agriculture.
