The Academia Sinica Linguistics Forum (ASLF), formerly known as the ILAS Annual Linguistics Forum, is hosted by the Institute of Linguistics at Academia Sinica in Taipei, Taiwan. It aims to promote scholarly exchange and deepen academic discussions.
The 5th ASLF focuses on "Computational and Instrumental Research in Linguistics." This installment explores the contributions of advancements in language technologies (such as natural language processing models) and various measurement tools (such as tools for measuring physical movements of articulators) to theoretical and empirical linguistic research.
In addition to focusing on research methods, this forum also highlights the importance of national languages and understudied languages through the themes of invited talks, continuing the Institute of Linguistics' long-standing commitment to these topics.

The 5th Academia Sinica Linguistics Forum focuses on "Computational and Instrumental Research in Linguistics." In line with recent technological advancements, the forum welcomes abstract submissions on linguistic research utilizing instrumental approaches (e.g., acoustic and articulatory phonetics, neurolinguistics) or applying tools and approaches in computational linguistics and natural language processing (e.g., corpus analysis, large language models). We particularly encourage research focusing on national languages or low-resource languages, as well as research on less-explored research methods and linguistic phenomena. Accepted abstracts will be presented in either oral or poster format.
