【Abstract】

Resonant phonon driving in the underdoped cuprate YBa2Cu3O6.48 was shown to induce superconducting coherence far above the equilibrium critical temperature. A “cold” superfluid was extracted from the transient terahertz conductivity and was seen to coexist with “hot” uncondensed quasi-particles. The interplay between coherent and incoherent responses in such a driven-dissipative system is not well understood. In this talk, I will report time-resolved spontaneous Raman experiments studying the lattice temperature in the photo-induced superconducting state in YBa2Cu3O6.48. This is to be compared with the electron (quasi-particle) temperature revealed by the terahertz spectroscopy. These results provide quantitative information on the nature of the driven superconducting state and its decay.
