【Abstract】
The properties of quark-gluon plasma have been intensively studied in heavy-ion collisions at high energy and recently also in high-multiplicity events of proton-nucleus collisions. Both collision systems are characterized by the presence of very intense electromagnetic fields and vorticity, which drive many interesting phenomena. I will discuss the non-equilibrium dynamics and the collective effects in relativistic proton-nucleus collisions. I will also talk on the influence of electromagnetic and vortical fields on particle directed flow and spin polarization. Moreover, I will show how the recent theoretical and experimental findings on vector meson polarization may point to a hitherto unknown influence of strong force fields and to a way to measure its local fluctuations.
