Pilot Guidelines for the Academia Sinica Alpha Research Team Project

- Academia Sinica (AS) has established the policy-oriented Alpha Research Team (the Alpha Team) to address critical national issues, and effectively use the public research and development resources invested by AS.
- The said critical national issues will be determined through relevant review procedures by the Central Academic Advisory Committee.
- The AS personnel who voluntarily join the Alpha Team should forgo the rights to income distribution from research outcomes as stipulated in the Academia Sinica Regulations on the Ownership and Utilization of Research and Development Achievements, and undergo performance evaluations set by AS for various research phases.
- AS may provide guidance and advice on the projects implemented by the Alpha Team, and may grant incentives on the basis of individual and group contributions to research outcomes to achieve immediate motivation.
- The Alpha Team should handle technology transfer and use in accordance with the Academia Sinica Regulations on the Ownership and Utilization of Research and Development Achievements. AS may allocate funds to hire internal or external experts to assist the Alpha Team in formulating practical research directions and plans to accelerate the development and application of outcomes.
- Members of the Alpha Team should familiarize themselves with the content of these Guidelines and sign an execution agreement for voluntary participation before joining the team.
- In cases where the Alpha Team member is found to be in violation of academic ethics or conflict of interest regulations, the Code of Ethics for Academia Sinica Research Fellows and Research Specialists will apply.
