Abstract
Since its discovery 60 years ago, the cosmic microwave background (CMB) has been one of the most valuable messengers of the primordial universe. Observations of the CMB have revolutionized our understanding, leading to modern cosmology with cosmic inflation, dark matter, and dark energy. In this talk, I will give an overview of the exciting history of CMB observations and summarize the current status with a couple of puzzles we are facing. At the end of my talk, I will briefly mention the next most significant challenges and future projects.
