Call for papers
August 30 and 31, 2006

The Center for Survey Research (CSR), Academia Sinica, invites your
participation in the 6th Survey Research Methodology Conference on August 30-31,
2006 in Taipei, Taiwan. The conference is held by CSR every two years since
1996. CSR is the largest survey research center in Taiwan that conducts academic
surveys and provides access to a vast archive of survey data.
The conference is honored to have Professor Jon Krosnick (Stanford University)
as the keynote speaker. Renowned scholars, including (in alphabetical order of
last names) Yanjie Bian (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology),
Frederick G. Conrad (University of Michigan), Arthur Lance Dryver (National
Institute of Development Administration), Danny Pfeffermann (Hebrew University),
Lance Rips (Northwestern University), Chris Skinner (University of Southampton),
David Steel (University of Wollongong), Sara Lynne Stokes (Southern Methodist
University) have also accepted the invitation to present in the conference.
The conference seeks submissions of papers on topics that address the full range
of survey research issues, such as sampling design, survey modes, survey errors,
weighting, questionnaire design, web survey and applications of GIS in survey
research. Studies related to sampling design, issues in panel survey, and
applications of GIS in survey research are especially welcomed.
Papers to be presented will be chosen based on the abstract. Therefore, we ask
you to send an informative long abstract (close to one page). Proposals should
be sent to srcsr@gate.sinica.edu.tw by April 28, 2006. When sending, please
use a subject heading, of "Paper proposal - Your Name," replacing "Your Name"
with the name of the author. The Conference Program Committee will send a
notification of acceptance by May 15, 2006. The due date of the full-length
paper is July 31, 2006.
