簡介

亞太區域研究專題中心（Center for Asia-Pacific Area Studies，簡稱CAPAS）成立於2003年1月1日，是為進一步整合與推展人文社會科學領域之區域研究，其前身為「東南亞區域研究計畫」（1994-2001）、「東北亞區域研究計畫」（1998-2001）、及「亞太研究計畫」（2002）。本專題中心隸屬於中央研究院人文社會科學研究中心；研究領域包括東南亞、東北亞、及太平洋島國。

壹﹑研究方向

  1. 亞太區域之宏觀歷史
  2. 亞太區域之社會文化、宗教與族群
  3. 戰後亞太區域各國之政治、經濟、及社會之轉型與發展
  4. 亞太區域的華人與當地各族群及社會的互動關係

貳、組織目標

  1. 奠定與促進本院各人文暨社會科學所 ( 處 ) 對亞太區域研究之基礎與發展。
  2. 加強本院與東南亞、東北亞及歐美各國研究本區域有成之學術機構及學者之合作關係，並推動更具互惠效益之學術交流。
  3. 推動與亞太區域有關之實用性及政策性研究。
  4. 培養國內亞太研究之專業人才。

伍、設備

本專題中心目前設於本院民族所舊館四樓，計有研究／行政室十五間。內陳列有國內外亞太研究相關機構之簡介及學術交換刊物。所添購之圖書則集中置放於民族／社會所圖書館，共有中文圖書3200冊、西文圖書8415冊、和期刊106種。
