Learning Chinese?
Academia Sinica provides Chinese classes for foreign researchers to improve their communicative skills in Chinese in daily life, and this course has been running for two years. We now welcome new joiners to register and participate in the classes. If you are interested in learning Chinese, please contact your institute clerk or Frances Peng at Human Resources Office (Tel: 2789-9696) for further details. You may also register on-line (e-mail: frances@gate.sinica.edu.tw) with your personal information clearly written: name, institute, contact phone number/e-mail address, nationality and the class you intend to join.
The current class schedule is as following:
- Class A (Elementary): Mon. 6:00 - 8:00 PM; Teacher: Jack Ju
- Class B (Intermediate): Wed. 6:00 - 8:00 PM; Teacher: Susan Tang
- Class C (Inter-Advanced): Fri. 6:00 - 8:00 PM; Teacher: Ms. Lin
Elementary: Mandarin Phonetic Symbols (Hanyu Pinyin), Basic Conversation, Pronunciation Practice, Vocabulary usage
Intermediate: Intermediate Mandarin conversation, Taiwan Today,
Chinese Customs and Traditions
Inter-Advanced: Chatting in Mandarin, Taiwan Today, Customs and
Culture, Introduction to tourism spots in Taiwan
- Teaching will be progressed in accordance with the student level.
- Class Location: Academic Activities Center Conference Room 5 (2nd
floor)
- No tuition fee is required.
- Students please notify the teacher or Human Resources Office (Frances Peng) in advance if they are unable to attend the class.
- Students are free to choose the class(es) they intend to participate.
- No classes are held on national holidays or Academia Sinica yearly gathering (Moon Festival & Chinese New Year).
- Welcome any comments and suggestions for the betterment of the class.
- One term consists of four months, starting from Jan.2004.
