On behalf of the organizing committee, I cordially invite you to participate in the International Symposium on Rice Molecular Biology (ISRMB) to be held at Taipei, Taiwan on Oct. 14-15, 1996. The Symposium is the continuation of the former four Workshops (IWRMB) held in Japan. I hope you can join us to discuss the recent progress in this interesting area.

Participation

The registranion fee, to be paid on arrival, is US$200 which covers the costs of a copy of Symposium Proceedings, a welcome reception, a formal banquet, lunch boxes and refreshment breaks.

Partial traveling grants, including the cost of one-way economy-class air ticket, free room and board, and waiver of registration fee, will be made available to young(age less than 30 by the end of October 1996) rice research scientists from the developing world on the open cpmpetion basis. Traveling grant winners will be notified, and details of traveling information will be sent out by the end of August.

If the participants agree, the full text of accepted titles should be brought to the meeting in a format that is to be informed by the end of August. An international publishing house will be contacted for the publication of proceedings in a book entitled " Recent Advances in Rice Molecular Biology "

The deadline for abstract submission and confirmation of registration is June 30.
